Reach the business owner who asked for a quote before another agency does

A business owner shopping for general liability, workers' comp or commercial auto usually asks several agencies at once. Peregrine calls first, gathers the basics, and puts a licensed agent on the line.

Why speed matters in insurance

Insurance is where some of the clearest research on response time comes from. A peer-reviewed study of an auto-insurance sales call center found conversion fell 31% when the first call came 30 minutes after a request instead of 5 (Musalem, Olivares and Yung, "Balancing Agent Retention and Waiting Time in Service Platforms," Operations Research, 2023).

Commercial quote requests behave the same way. An owner who needs a certificate of insurance to start a job, or whose policy renews next month, takes the first agency that calls back with a clear next step.

What Peregrine does, and what it does not

Peregrine calls the business owner within seconds, says it is an AI assistant for your agency, and confirms what you need to route the call: the type of business, the lines of coverage, number of employees or vehicles, current carrier and renewal date. It looks up the company first, so it skips what it already knows. Then it live-transfers the caller to an available licensed agent.

It does not quote, bind or give advice; your agents do. Callers who ask not to be contacted are marked do-not-call immediately, and every call has a transcript for your file.

Routing by agent availability

Agents set their hours and switch themselves on and off. Peregrine only dials when someone can take the transfer, and rings agents in turn, falling through to the next agent when one does not answer.

Every agent who is on shares one rotation. Peregrine does not yet send particular lines or states to particular agents. Until it does, put only agents who can take every line you advertise into the rotation, or transfer to a shared line that your own phone system routes.

Compliance basics

Collect consent on your quote forms, honor do-not-call requests, respect calling hours in the caller's time zone, and follow your states' rules on AI disclosure and call recording. Peregrine discloses that it is an AI on every call and records do-not-call requests automatically; your counsel should review your consent language.

A typical first call

A contractor requests a general liability quote at lunch because a client asked for a certificate. Seconds later Peregrine calls, introduces itself as an AI assistant for your agency, confirms the type of work, the state, the number of employees and when coverage needs to start, and asks who they are insured with now. Then it tells them it is connecting them with a licensed agent.

Owners who are not ready get a callback at the time they choose. Owners who ask not to be called are marked do-not-call on the spot.

Questions

Does Peregrine quote insurance?

No. It gathers the basics and transfers to a licensed agent, who handles quoting and advice.

Can it ask different questions for each line?

Yes. Use a separate qualification profile for, say, general liability and commercial auto, and send the profile with each lead from your webhook or API. Routing each line to its own group of agents is not available yet.

How are do-not-call requests handled?

If a caller asks not to be contacted, Peregrine marks the lead do-not-call immediately and never dials it again.
